Equality Agents Training Course

Analysing the Selected Inequality

Estimated duration of the phase: 8 hours

  • 2 hours of guided session.
  • 2 hours of individual work.
  • 3 hours of teamwork.
  • 1 hour of forum participation.

2.1. Purpose of this phase

In this first phase, each international team must fully understand the workplace inequality they have chosen before attempting to propose solutions.

The objective is not to start creating a PowerPoint without a foundation, but to build a clear, shared, and useful perspective on the problem.

To act as Equality Agents, you must first know how to observe, define, and analyse.

This phase connects directly with Module 1, where you worked on concepts such as:

  • Equality and equity.
  • Direct and indirect discrimination.
  • Biases.
  • Stereotypes.
  • The impact of inequality on individuals and organisations.
  • Intersectionality.
  • Prevention and organisational responsibility.

This phase is about building a solid analytical foundation before moving into action.

2.2. What you should achieve by the end of this phase

By the end of this phase, your team should have:

  • A specific and well-defined topic.
  • A clear explanation of how it appears in the workplace.
  • An initial identification of visible and invisible signs.
  • A brief analysis of its impact on individuals, teams, and the organisation.
  • A reference case study.
  • A small selection of useful resources in English or in your language related to your topic.
  • An initial bibliography in APA 7 format.

The goal is not to solve the problem yet, but to understand it deeply and collectively.
